Sonnon's work is unique and special because he draws on a holistic collection of modalities.
Sonnon uses exercise therapeutically and this text is a must have for yoga teachers, yoga therapists, and cranial sacral workers. I'm a huge fan of Makunda Stiles' Structural Yoga Therapy and often use his joint warm ups while teaching yoga. As a teacher, I always yearn for more joint exercises to use in my classes. Sonnon provides an entire text devoted to joint mobility.

One of the the men I studied with was a silver-haired monk
nick-named "Pasha." Though of an obviously seasoned, he boasted of
being 104 years old. His seniority didn't prevent him from
extraordinary feats of strength like twirling a 140lbs tree around his

traditional Yoga and Sufism I have been taught, in its design to
energetically align you with Grace through specific postures,

For my teachers, there was simply no distinction between mind,
body and spirit. To fortify one's health, clear one's mind and elevate
one's spirit were one and the same. We exercised 6 hours a day minimum
plus 4 more in study, and each session was conducted with the
sacredness of a church, mosque or ashram.
Ancient Health Discipline to Modern Longevity Discipline!
What came as an incredible surprise for me was the way that my
Russian mentors researched. They delved into what has worked for
thousands of years and distilled the universal principles which made
them "tick." For weeks on end, I would be rigorously tested with exotic
recording devices which would bleep and bip as I performed the various
movements I had mastered. Each data point demonstrated their genius, as
Soviet scientist and physician Bogolometz announced, "You are as old as
your connective tissue!"
We are as Old as Our Movement!
Where I had been taught in the USA how to improve the size and
strength of my muscles, my Russian teachers taught me to look to the
more subtle power of the tissue which surrounds the muscle, the joints,
the bones and even our organs. In this scientific "think-tank" of they
had implemented this essence into their Space Program, into their
Olympic Teams, and into the Special Operations Units. Though being a
world-class fighter when I arrived in Russia, I was regularly
outperformed by individuals in their 60s and 70s - a reality
hard-swallowed, but gratefully-learned!
Many of the research protocols were still "classified" so I was
not allowed to film or photograph some of the events, but one device
indelibly recorded every one of the drills: my nervous system. I had
been forever changed by being required to mastery the exercises. And
because my learning disabilities and physical impairments as a child, I
developed an acute sensitivity for movement, position and force. If I
did a movement once, I never forgot it - it was the blessing which
resulted from enduring the "defects" which dismayed teachers of my
So, what are these exercises guaranteeing long lives of
high-quality, pain-free movement?
The 1st Secret to The Intu-Flow Longevity System is joint
mobility: a discipline I pioneered for the West. Whether you take my
word or not; the basic movements were nothing more than learning how to
move each joint individually!
My teacher, Russian General Alexander Ivanovich Retuinskih, sat
me down in my dorm room on my very first day, and because of our
language barrier, he sketched out how these movements strung together
in an ancient, yet scientifically validated sequence. As General
Retuinskih, demonstrated each illustration with a physical movement, he
mimed to me to concentrate on this very simple process of
sophistication called "simplexity." Basically, he explained that,
"There are 6 patterns of movement which when done in proper sequence
will spring your "Fountain of Youth." And if you merely take each
joint in proper sequence and go through its basic ranges, you will
be amazed at how energized you will feel by the end of just one session
performed with the right intention."
Without words, General Retuinskih would select a joint in my body,
press a particular point and produce pain. He would then show me a
movement, have me perform it, return to the same pressure application
as before, but with less discomfort. And with each more advanced
movement he taught me, the pain diminished more until it was completely
gone. And then something else happened...
When the "noise" of pain disappeared from that local area, a
sudden WHOOSH OF ENERGY flooded into first the local area, then started
to leech into the next adjacent joint and so on. By the end of this
session, I felt like a Superhero ready to take off!
Every one of those snowy, dark mornings, I climbed out of my icy
rack in my skivvies to run outside, perform my breathing exercises, my
postures and my movements, and each morning more and more and MORE
ENERGY started to uncork, like a sluice gates was being opened higher
and higher within me.

In deeper sessions with Gen. Retuinskih, and my other Russian
teachers, I came to understand the real key to this movement.
Every joint carries a specific emotional component, so
